The 1975 is an alternative rock band hailing from Manchester, England. They have recently become very popular and their music has gained a lot of attention over the past 2 years. They have two major albums out: The 1975, and I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It.
The band consists of four members.
Matty Healy is the lead singer and writes most of the songs.
Adam Hann is the lead guitarist.
Ross MacDonald is the band’s bassist.
George Daniel is the drummer.
The band started playing together in 2002 when they were still in high school. They started off by playing covers of punk songs and eventually went to writing their own songs. They were previously called “Drive Like I Do” before switching their name to “The 1975”.

Their sets are very visually appealing and detailed which makes the pictures from their concerts very cool and interesting to look at. They also post a lot of their new merchandise that they want to promote.
Their Tumblr presence is very large. They have a large following and they are discussed a lot on Tumblr, but when you click on their actual Tumblr link you are taken to their website which is where you can see their posts that are targeted for Tumblr. Their whole aesthetic and their vibes are very attuned with what the Tumblr world looks for. They have a slightly grunge vibe to them and their lyrics are sometimes dark and troubled which is just what the hipster Tumblr community looks for.

As you can see from all these examples, The 1975 has a very large social media and online presence. Also, looking from the other point of view, it is probably why the band is so popular with the people they are. They follow very set visual and graphic designs which makes them have a very put together presence and they are one of my favorite bands to follow on social media.
